6 Batch assign

Filling a whole block of the treatment roster in one go, instead of cell by cell. It is the folded panel above the grid — click Batch assign to open it.

Batch assign needs the sheet locked first, like any other edit (chapter 5). Lock, batch, check the grid, Save, unlock.
  1. What to set. Operating hours, Staff band, Off / AL / SL or Remark. The rest of the panel changes to match what you picked.
  2. The value. The hours for each band, or a band, or a status with an optional reason, or the line to write as the day's remark. Each has a Clear option, which empties that thing on the days you pick rather than setting it.
  3. Who. Tick the people it applies to — all / none are beside the label. It only appears for the two settings that belong to a person, Staff band and Off / AL / SL: operating hours and a remark belong to the day, so the panel takes Who away rather than pretend otherwise.
  4. Weeks and Days. Tick the weeks of the cycle and the weekdays. Saturday is unticked to start with.
  5. SKIP. Who the batch leaves alone: nobody, anyone already away that day, or anyone away and with no relieving assigned. The middle one is the usual choice and is already selected. Like Who, it is only there for the per-person settings.
  6. Press Apply to grid. The count beside the button tells you how many cells it will touch.
  7. Look at the grid — then press Save.
Operating hours: the hours for each band, the weeks and the days. The line beside the button reads back what is about to happen — here, 43 days.

Off / AL / SL: the same panel, with WHO and SKIP now in it because this setting belongs to a person. The count reads 129 cells.

Apply to grid is not a save. It only fills the cells in front of you. Nothing is written until you press Save — and nothing can be written at all unless you hold the lock.

Sundays and public holidays are always skipped, whatever you tick — there are no hours to give on those days. Got it wrong? Nothing is written until you save, so reloading the page throws the whole batch away.
